Description

We are looking for someone who wants to work with rewetting at our authority for forestry issues.

Rewetting means raising the groundwater level on a peatland to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Rewetting is a climate measure that also has positive effects on biodiversity.

Responsibilities

You will primarily work with the rewetting of previously drained peatland on forest land. The tasks consist of both planning rewetting and practical work in the field with management of contractors. Planning for rewetting is done largely from the office using various mapping systems.

You will also be involved in the district's other activities, which include, for example, advisory services, area protection, and supervision. The work involves contacts with forest owners, forestry companies, authorities, interest organizations, and the public. We cover a large geography where digital meeting formats and training are important tools. Travel with overnight stays within the district may occur.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in forestry, biology with a forestry focus, or equivalent. Knowledge of land and water issues is an advantage, and experience in rewetting work is highly valuable. Training, knowledge, and experience in nature value inventory are advantageous but not required. We value good IT/GIS skills.

Your personal qualities are of great importance. We are looking for an outgoing person with integrity who meets people with objectivity and respect. You enjoy fieldwork, are flexible, efficient, and have a good ability to collaborate with others. You are responsible, meticulous, have good administrative skills, and can independently complete your tasks towards set goals. You also need to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

A driver's license is a requirement.

Conditions

We offer a fixed-term employment from May 4, 2026, to March 31, 2027.

The stationing location is in Storuman. We apply individual salary setting.
